From The New York Times: “Thomas Crow, a respected art historian who has been the director of the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles since 2000, has been named the Rosalie Solow Professor of Modern Art at New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts. Mr. Crow is replacing Robert Storr, who left the Art Institute to become dean of Yale School of Art. ‘This is a chance to take what I’ve learned at the Getty and get back to a teaching and research environment,’ said Mr. Crow, who will stay at the Getty until he starts his job in September. By that time, he said, he believes the Getty will have named his successor.”
