The rotten weather has kept more than a few attendees away. Blogger Gregory T. Davis writes: “melanie and I fly out tomorrow evening for new york city to attend the college arts association’s annual meat market … the conference was a bust last year, so we’ll see if it still blows this year … the weasther is supposed to be just as cheerful as the conference itself, low twenties and snow. sounds like a repeat of boston. why can’t they hold the conference in the summer, or at least in te south? because they hate me, that’s why … mel and I just drove an hour from home to get to her parent’s house so they could drive us two more hours to the louisville airport to get to caa in new york, but when we got there, our flight was cancelled and her parents were already on their way back home. so now we are stranded for the night in a holiday inn, still in kentucky, with a new flight at 6:20 in the morning. I don’t think it will be able to fly out either. this may be an ill-fated trip. at least I won’t miss ‘lost’ tonight. there’s always a silver lining.”
