In CAA’s blog, Benjamin Lima reports on the “Art History and Nazi Germany” panel: “In Germany, the National Socialist period lasted from 1933 to 1945. But to bracket Naziism within these years, and close the book there, would be all too easy an abdication of responsibility. This is the message that I took from the deep-thinking and scrupulous panel chaired by Christian Fuhrmeister. Several of the papers showed how concepts or premises from the 1920s or before flowed right into the Nazi period; and/or how such concepts or premises were retained in the 1950s or still later on.”
